Good garden view room. Bathroom is small but functional. Nice garden to sit and enjoy a drink at the end of the day. Location is good, just a 5 minute walk from the town center.
Staff was friendly, the room was a great size, the bathroom was huge and had all necessary things you need in a hotel room.
Not many plug sockets
Close near shops
Room cold, hot water warm not good enough for shower or bath. Limited car park space or have to wake up early to move due to control zone.
The hotel delivered what was claimed, i.e. a no frills hotel at modest price. The room was clean and the staff were courteous and helpful. The garden to the rear is delightful.
The staff were excellent, no cooked breakfast, analogue tv signal kept dropping out no teletext, hot water took up to 10 minutes to come through. Very clean smart hotel, but simple ameneties.
Tv kept losing its signal, up to 10 minutes for hot water to come through, no tea making facilities in room, micro-wave dinners
From the check-in to the check-out, the hotel staff was very helpful. The room was simple but comfortable, very clean and the bathroom was new. We had the chance to have good weather so we had breakfast in the garden, it was lovely. Coming back late at night wasn't a problem as the magnetic card of our room also opened the front door.
I regualrly use the smart and simpl It is great value for money is well situatued for our family and is the most convenient value hotel in Tunbridge wells
I hate the shower no matter what room i am in it is complicated and difficult to use. What i didnt like this time was that the breakfast was not inclusive. I am hoping that this is not a trend towards losing the hotels unique value for money label
Fantastic staff, especially Lisa and Gabriel, great tea and coffee trays delivered to the room 24/7 at £1.00 per person. Lovely big room (No 22) plenty of mirrors, nice lighting, no frills, good bed, linen and towels. We had the continental breakfast one morning and it was delicious. 7 minute walk into town and lots of lovely places to eat, stop for coffee or just shop. Also near enough to Brands Hatch to make the track an easy day out!!
If you like carpeted floors in rooms this probably isn't the place for you and if a kettle is a must then it won't work either! The parking is easier if you stay calm and plan where you need to park, the hotel will give you plenty of info.
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff; free wifi in rooms.
Very limited on site parking, but this is due to its location in a residential area.
Bed was comfortable, room spacious.
There was rather a strange smell in the foyer - rather like damp washing which has been left for a day or so. I was somewhat glad that we were not intending to eat at the hotel as the foyer/bar/restaurant area is open plan. There was also a section of the first floor landing which had a strange smell which was worse, as both my husband and I felt it had a 'drain' origin. Luckily, our immediate corridor was free of this smell. Also, we expected to have coffee making facilities in the room, so were somewhat surprised that this had to be ordered from room service and cost added to the bill. We stay in a lot of similarly priced hotels in England and this is the first time we have had no coffee making facilities in our room.
Nice decor, friendly staff, pretty garden
Would rather have had tea and coffee in the room than a bag of sweets.
Sweets Contemporary decor Comfort friendly staff & atmosphere
lack of parking
Easily accessible from centre of town. Very polite staff. Friendly and welcoming.
I found the shower difficult to work out!
The staff were both friendly and well mannered and were most obliging. The room we occupied was large and airy and functional for the short stay we partook of. The price was fair as a stop-over stay and close to the delightful area of Pantiles.
We both agreed that a facility for Tea/Coffee making in the room would be a boon. After being woken by a false fire alarm, twice, we ordered from room service in order to resettle but this request wasn't met. Also, whilst keeping in mind your 'costs', an option of a cooked breakfast would have been a boon in order to avoid having to search out other venues in a unfamiliar locality.
Comfortable, spacious room with lots of light; pleasant garden.
Completely transparent lavatory/bathroom door! Awkward (anti-theft, I suppose) coat hangers. No full-length mirror, and mirrors too low for me, at 6 ft 3ins, to see my face.
